Tributes
Dr. Riffat Hassan
I have been trying to phone you ever since I
heard the shocking news about
Didi's passing. I am in still in a state of deep
shock and sorrow. Didi was
the dearest of all my sisters to me and the love
I got from her is one of my
life's greatest treasures. I do not know what I
will do without her, how I
will feel when I go to Delhi when she is not
there. Her home was my home and
now I feel as if I have become homeless.
I want so much to talk to you my brother, and
find out about Didi's last
days and her sudden passing. The newspapers say
that she was not keeping well
for some days. When I talked to her last she
seemed to be okay. She had told me
that she would be going to Pakistan in May. Didi
worked so hard to promote peace
between India and Pakistan and so many people in
Pakistan love her.
I hope you will continue her work.
Please convey my deepest condolences to Didi's
large family of all those
who knew her, worked with her and loved her. We
have all suffered an
irreparable loss but we have to honor Didi's
precious memory by carrying on
the work to which she devoted all her life.
May God give you strength and courage in this
hour of morning.
Sharing your sorrow,
Your sister
Riffat
