Burmese Pro-Democracy Movement in India

Condolence message for our beloved Didi, Dr. Nirmala Deshpande, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha)

Of Burmese pro-democracy movement in India

We, Burmese pro-democracy movement in India are deeply saddened to hear about the death of our beloved Did!, Dr. Nirmala Deshpande on 1st May 2008. She was such a kind, gentle soul.

We honestly recognize Nirmala Deshpande as one of the most revered Indian leaders who really understand the struggle for democracy in Burma. She was the one who always stood by our movement.

She has led most of our significant functions in India such as for the release of our leader Daw Aung San Suu Kyi. She was the leader who brought Burmese cause to the Indian Parliament.

She was our inspiration for our nonviolent struggle against the military tyranny. Her death is a tragic loss for Burmese prodemocracy movement in India.

We all wish her land at Sugati (God’s Peace)
