Nirmala Deshpande was a close and dearest friend of mine. She was a good friend of Russia. Never will I forge how she brought food to Indira Gandhi in prison. She will forever remain a true Gandhian whose nobel principles must be emulated by all.

Let her soul rest in eternal peace in her heavenly abode. She well deserves it.
